The Hurco SRT Series is the Swiss Army Knife of 5-axis machining, offering unmatched versatility for job shops and manufacturers who need to tackle a wide variety of work. Unlike traditional trunnion-style machines, the flush-mounted C-axis rotary table allows full use of the entire work surface, making it easy to switch between 3-axis jobs, tombstone fixturing, or multi-sided machining without repositioning.

With a 92° tilting B-axis head, the SRT Series accommodates heavier workpieces by keeping them fully supported on a non-tilting table, eliminating weight restrictions common in trunnion designs. The 24-inch C-axis rotary table, offset to one side, maximizes part size flexibility while allowing standard workholding solutions like Kurt vises without the need for custom setups. Plus, the direct-drive torque motors on both B and C axes provide fast, precise positioning with no duty cycle limitations, ensuring high accuracy even during extended cuts.

Powering it all is a high-horsepower 12K motorized spindle, delivering quick acceleration, heavy cutting performance, and superior surface finishes. Hydraulic braking and clamping provide rigid stability, while the 100 RPM C-axis rotation expands your machining capabilities. We machine all of our main caps on the VMX42SRTi 5-axis machine. Previously, we used a different machine that required six separate operations, moving the part from position to position. Now, with the SRT’s C-table and swivel head, we’ve reduced that to just two operations. In racing, parts and dimensions are constantly evolving, and with the Hurco, making changes and edits is seamless. Consistency and precision are key to winning races, and with the SRT, we can set up, dial it in, and let it run—allowing us to focus on the next task. None of the other machines we considered had all these capabilities.
