Most 5-axis work happens on a 500 mm table. The BM500U was built for exactly that job, and built to do it all day. It starts with a cast iron bridge design that separates the Y axis from the linear stack and places it below the trunnion, and a dual supported trunnion table that stays rigid under load instead of flexing away from the cut.
The work envelope is bigger than the footprint suggests: 33.46 x 19.69 x 19.69 in (850 x 500 x 500 mm) of travel around a 19.69 in (500 mm) rotary tilt table, with generous Z clearance for taller parts and fixtures. Run full 5-axis simultaneous or 3+2, whichever the part calls for.
A 15,000 rpm direct drive spindle runs on a true digital vector control drive, which means faster acceleration, cleaner rigid tapping, and tighter velocity control in the cut. Linear scales are standard. Absolute encoders on the B and C axes are standard. Through-spindle coolant and air, a spindle cooler, flood and washdown coolant, a chip conveyor, an air mist collector, and a 60-station tool changer are all standard, with a 96-station magazine available.
And because unattended hours are the point, the BM500U was designed from day one for automation, including Hurco’s new 8-station automatic pallet changer.
