INDIANAPOLIS – Hurco customer Wade Moore, owner of Moore Engineering, will officially launch his new YouTube channel “MooreCNC” at IMTS 2018. In order to attract more people to machining, he started a YouTube channel to illustrate to his generation how cool and tech-oriented manufacturing really is. Wade started his shop in 2014 and does mostly short run jobs.
Even though Wade is the great grandson of Richard Moore, of Moore jig borer fame, he wasn’t planning to start his own shop after he graduated from the University of Connecticut with a mechanical engineering degree. Entering the Chipmaker Challenge, a competition sponsored by Hurco at IMTS 2014, inspired him to control his future and pursue his dream. “Doing the Chipmaker Challenge is what really pushed me to make a business plan, and motivate myself to take a leap towards manufacturing as a full time job.”
Wade purchased his first Hurco CNC machine in 2016. “What I didn’t realize was that the Hurco machine was going to be so easy to train my younger brothers and sister on,” Wade chuckles and proudly flips through his phone camera videos that show his siblings operating the Hurco with confidence. “I can teach them how to run the machine for a specific job very quickly and they are so proficient that I can relax and let them work all day while I can run other spindles or set up for the next jobs.” Wade has found that the quality of the finishes he gets on the stainless steel medical parts are great on the Hurco. “Part after part emerges flawless. It is by far the easiest machine to operate and the definite ‘go to’ machine for any fast job that needs to be done,” said Wade.
Wade will be at the Hurco booth (S-338319) from Tuesday to Friday. Subscribe to the “MooreCNC” channel by visitingHurco.com/MooreCNC.
